Virgin Experiences joins Kout - why it is a big deal

Virgin Experiences Days announced today joining the list of brands selling on, becoming the first retailer selling non-physical objects on the platform. "We are delighted to welcome a premium experience brand on the platform” CEO Samuel Huber says. “Experiences are these kind of non-essentials that people would love to get at a bargain if possible. Virgin is looking for new partners to push their offers and through gamification we will help engage and retain their audience.”

The experiences range from a boat tour on the river Thames, to a visit of Old Trafford stadium or a concert of Shawn Mendes, and will span the UK. If you don’t know what to do this week end, just visit and play for a chance to win an activity to share with your friends or family.

“Having Virgin as a partner, opens our horizon further than being a simple e-commerce platform. You might not need a new iPad, or a new pair of sneakers, but you can always live more experiences. With Kout and Virgin you can do so without breaking the bank”.

Nike and Samsung join Kout

Two major consumer brands joined Kout the same day - Nike and Samsung. “We are delighted to gain the trust of large consumer brands while still in beta”, CEO commented. “It shows that gamification is starting to be something that brands look at more closely in the e-commerce world. Hopefully their vote of confidence will inspire other brands to join us too”.

As a trial, only a ‘few thousands’ products from the brands inventory has been added, Samuel says. The idea will be to release the entire inventory in early 2017.

Kout’s performance, as an official reseller of these brands, will be monitored quickly by the brands' account managers. “So far we are still learning about consumer behaviour, and how they interact with different brands in different verticals. Based on their actions and feedback we will assess the next steps, but we are very confident our excellent results will also apply to these trusted, high value brands”.

Kout launches free to play Beta with Amazon

Funded by #1 adtech UK accelerator in early 2016, Kout released today a beta version of their free to play platform, in partnership with Amazon. Customers can search a selection of the inventory, and play for a chance to get discounts on the products - up to 99% off.

“It is great to finally get the product out, CEO Samuel Huber says. We had a slight pivot in the business model earlier this year and since then have been able to sign Amazon. Many other trusted retailers will follow!”.

Samuel expects in the ‘tens of thousands’ of players to join the beta, since it isn’t closed to the public. “We’re just laying low on the marketing while we keep learning about our users”, he says. “The experience isn’t perfect yet, but we’re improving it every day!”.
